Terms of Use
Last updated 4 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Alon Jacob (“we”, “us”), the maker of Ari: Learn Hebrew (“the app”). By using the app, you agree to them. Your licence to use the app itself comes from Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement; these terms add the rules for our lessons, Ari chat and Ari Super. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
1. Who can use the app
The app is for learners of every age. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian needs to agree to these terms for you. For learners under 13, Ari chat is switched off, and Settings and purchases sit behind a grown-up check.
2. Ari Super
- What it is. Ari Super is an optional subscription. The app shows what it includes, and the price in your currency, before you buy.
- Billing. Apple charges your Apple Account. We never see your payment details.
- Free trial. Where a plan offers a free trial, you won’t be charged during it. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the subscription starts and Apple charges the plan’s price.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same length and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If the price changes, Apple tells you first, and asks for your agreement where the law requires it.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in the app (Settings › Manage subscription) or in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions. You keep Super until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Refunds. Apple handles refunds under its own policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Family plan. The family plan is shared through Apple’s Family Sharing with up to five other family members.
- Deleting your account doesn’t cancel Super. Cancel the subscription as well, or Apple will keep billing it.
3. Hearts, gems and Ari’s closet
Hearts, gems and the clothes in Ari’s closet are part of the game. You earn them by learning; they can’t be bought with money, have no cash value, and can’t be sold or exchanged. We may change how they work. They’re lost if you delete your data, or delete the app without a backup of your device.
4. Ari chat
- Ari is an AI. His replies are written by OpenAI’s model. They can be wrong, odd or incomplete. Use Ari to practise Hebrew, not for medical, legal, money or safety decisions.
- Ari isn’t a person or a counsellor. If you’re having a hard time or thinking of hurting yourself, please talk to someone you trust or call your local emergency number. In the US, call or text 988.
- Be kind and safe. Don’t use Ari to harass anyone, to try to make him say harmful, sexual or illegal things, or to attack or overload the service. Don’t share private details about yourself or anyone else, like an address or phone number.
- Limits. Free learners get 10 messages a day; Super lifts that limit, within fair use. To keep Ari safe, we filter replies, and we may limit or turn off chat for an account that misuses it.
- Your messages. You keep any rights you have in what you write. You allow us, and OpenAI, to process your messages to write Ari’s replies, as the Privacy Policy explains.
- Tell us. If a reply isn’t OK, press and hold it to report it, or email us.
5. Our content
The lessons, stories, pictures, recordings and Ari himself belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. You may use them for your own learning. Please don’t copy, share, sell or scrape them. Bible verses come from the traditional Hebrew text. Some of our pictures and voices are made with the help of AI tools.
6. Your progress
Your progress is kept on your device and in your device’s own backups. If you delete the app or your data without a backup, we can’t bring it back. You can delete your data at any time in Settings › Account › Delete account & data.
7. Changes
We keep improving the app, so features may change or, sometimes, end. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and tell you in the app. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply.
8. If things go wrong
We work hard on the app, but it’s provided “as is”: we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or get you to a particular level. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Ari Super in the 12 months before the claim. None of this takes away rights you have under your local consumer law.
9. Ending
You can stop using the app at any time, and delete your data in Settings. We may suspend features for anyone who breaks these terms, especially the Ari chat rules.
10. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, except where the law of the country you live in says otherwise.
